Annapolis, Md. (May 26, 2006) - The U.S. Navy flight demonstration team the "Blue Angels," conduct the traditional fly-by to open the U.S. Naval Academy's 2006 Graduation and Commissioning Ceremony. Vice President Dick Cheney gave the commencement address to Nine hundred-eighty Midshipmen who where later sworn in as Navy Ensigns or Marine Corps Second Lieutenants. The Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Mike Mullen and Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corp Gen. Robert Magnus administered the Oath of Office at the 156th traditional graduation ceremony.

Fort Worth, Texas (May 14, 2006) - Aviation Maintenance Administrationman 2nd Class Desiree Phillips, assigned to Maintenance Control on the Blue Angels enlisted team, autographs memorabilia for enthusiastic young fans at the Texas Thunder Air Show 2006 held at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) Fort Worth. The air show, headlined by the Navy Flight Demonstration Team, the Blue Angels, capped off a series of community events for Navy Week Dallas. Similar Navy Weeks are planned this year in cities throughout the United States, arranged by the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO).
