Blue Angels with Dirty Faces
Memoirs
by Chief Petty Officer Ron Beeler (Ret.)

In "Blue Angels... With Dirty Faces," Ron Beeler, former Blue Angels Special Flight crewman and jet mechanic, veteran of two tours with the world famous Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron... the backseat-rider in the Blue Angels' Navy 0 and later in Navy 7... takes us on a frequently humorous, behind the scenes close up look at the personal interaction, situations, and social experiences of the pilots, and "the Crew..." the uncelebrated stars, "The Blue Angels With Dirty Faces."

Enjoy a fresh, new look at the legacy of the Blue Angels from the eras of the '50s and '60s. Long before the sleek and powerful F/A18 Hornets of today, he presents little known facts about the relatively dangerous, first generation jets the pilots flew. . . And many years before the crowd-pleasing sweetheart, "Fat Albert," he takes you on exciting rides in the slow-flyin', tail-draggin' transports, in which the "Crew" spent endless hours to reach a "Show Site

Ron 2006.

Former Blue Angels mechanic Ron Beeler holds a copy of his book, "Blues Angels with Dirty Faces," the story of the unsung heroes of the renowned Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron ... the enlisted men and women responsible for keeping the Blues Angels flying.

 PRESS RELEASE:

A new book is being released just in time for the Blue Angels' 60 Anniversary Celebration and Airshow. "Blue Angels With Dirty Faces," by Ron Beeler, former Blue Angels Special Flight Crewman in Navy 7 and jet engine mechanic, puts into focus the roles and relationships between the pilots and crew of the world famous Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.

Merely through a stroke of good fortune, Ron is likely the youngest member to ever be assigned to and accepted into the selective "Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team. Once on the "Team," he meets the famous World War II Aces and the "old salts" of the straight-deck aircraft carrier who teach him that perfect maintenance is the only kind of maintenance tolerated within the Blue Angels and the U.S. Navy. He rejoined the "Team" in 1963 for a second tour of exciting duty, and the first Blue Angels' European Tour.

Ron's book is generously sprinkled with humor, excitement, and little known facts about the Blue Angels in the early days of the 50's and 60's. As an enlisted man, he tells the stories of the Blues from a brand-new perspective. His characterizations of the elite group of aviators and crewman reveal a fresh side of the Blues not seen before.

Ron moved to Pensacola in June of 1955 with the Blue Angels. Three months later he married native-born Pensacolean, Norma Douglas of the Scenic Heights area, formerly "Tater-Town." Between tours of sea duty, Pensacola remained his home where he and Norma raised two children, Rhonda and James.

"Blue Angels With Dirty Faces" will be available online at www.Trentsprints.com November 3rd and will be released with a book-signing at Barnes & Noble in Pensacola November 18th.
