Grumman F11F-1F Tiger 138647 on display at US Naval Museum of Armament and Technology, China Lake, CA. The aircraft on the right is a short nose Tiger. This is the only short nose left, which we know of. It actually did serve as a Blue Angels Tiger (1957-1958).

F11F-1F SUPERTIGER

This aircraft started out as a short nose tiger. Went to the Blue Angels, then when the Blue Angels went to the long nose F11. This F-11 went back to Grumman and some modification took place.

They change the nose and put a J79 into the airframe. First flight was on May 25, 1956. To read more you can get the book from Steve Ginter at his web site
